The Ownership Hub

The Ownership Hub supports businesses, professional advisers and regions to raise awareness, knowledge and capacity to grow employee and worker ownership.

This joint project between Co-operatives UK and the Employee Ownership Association supports the #1MillionOwners campaign which aims to create 1 million owners in the UK by 2030.

The Ownership Hub supports economic regions, offering them expertise and resources to grow employee and worker ownership as part of their economic strategy.

We work with regional Ownership Hub partners to address the knowledge, awareness and gaps in support for employee and worker ownership, engaging key regional economic partners, business founders and advisers.

We reach and train business advisors, accountants, lawyers and banks, who advise entrepreneurs and business owners how to start, scale up or convert a business to employee and worker ownership.

These highly flexible business models are found in regions and sectors across the UK, from farming to web design, manufacturing to couriering, from pubs and restaurants to acting and accounting.

We support business owners at start-up, or early evolution to adopt a worker co-operative model. We also support businesses where their owner is looking to exit to transition to employee ownership as a succession plan.

Become a regional partner

We’re looking for economic regions made up of  Combined Authorities, Local Enterprise Partnerships and Local Authorities to become Ownership Hub Partners to grow and support employee and worker ownership in your region.

We provide advice, training and expertise – matched by your local connections, networks and professional knowledge.

Together we can lead the way in creating new business owners.

It is an integral part of a greater effort to not just create a more dynamic, productive and resilient economy, but to reform its structure – to change the system in a way which makes it fairer, more inclusive, and better able to serve the aspirations and needs of the people of South Yorkshire.
